Kevin R. Martin is a Senior Advisor with Beacon Equity Advisors During his more than twenty year career as a merger and acquisition advisor he has sold over 100 closely held businesses. He has accomplished this primarily by developing an active and personal relationship with each client, enabling him to thoroughly understand the business and people he is representing. Over the years he has consistently earned the respect of the business owners he represented and the the buyers he has place in these companies.

Mr. Martin’s experience also includes the appraisal of hundreds of businesses for both buyers and sellers over a wide and diverse group of industries, including: consumer and industrial manufacturing, electronics, scientific instruments, printing, distribution, as well as business and consumer services.
 To achieve the success he enjoys, Kevin has interviewed over 1,200 potential buyers in the crucial process of determining their motivations, qualifications and fit for a particular business.

Kevin Martin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Vermont in Burlington.  He is a member in the New England Business Broker Association and has presented seminars to accountants, attorneys, and business trade associations, on topics such as “Selling a Closely Held Business”, “Marketplace Update”, and “Getting the best price for your Business.”

Representative Transactions

Advisor and senior dealmaker to the owners of an Adhesive Manufacturing business, servicing 500 customers all across the country.  The Company was sold to another large adhesive manufacturer from California after a nationwide search for the right buyer.

Advisor and senior dealmaker to the owners of a Scientific Instrument manufacturing company which developed proprietary and cutting edge instruments primarily marketed to the international pharmaceutical industry. Business was sold to a former CEO of another instrument company from a related industry in a transaction where each of the three owners received their primary objective in the transaction.

Advisor and senior dealmaker representing a buyer where we conducted a search for a manufacturing business “not on the market”. Researched, identified, and contacted 350 businesses throughout New England that met the buyer’s personal investment criteria.  Filtered initial responses from owners, worked with the buyer to narrow the prospect companies down to a manageable list of best candidates followed by an intensive look and valuation of each prospect.  Assisted the client with due diligence and meetings with the seller to identify the one business that was perfect for him; a chemical manufacturing business which he was then able to move to a location only two miles from his house.
