Beacon Equity Advisors is the Premier firm in the Boston area for the sale of closely held businesses with revenues from $1M to $25M. We were founded more than 20 years ago and have sold hundreds of businesses in a wide variety of industries. We focus on the sale of manufacturing, distribution and professional service firms. We do not handle restaurants, dry cleaners or similar businesses. By assisting business owners selling their business we are paid a transaction success fee which is normally 8 – 10% of a typical million dollar transaction, less for larger deals.
Business Brokers assist business owners in selling their businesses. Brokers must have good people skills, Bachelors degree in a business related discipline (or prior business ownership) and must understand Income Statements and Balance Sheets. This position is all about keeping buyers and sellers “comfortable” while guiding them through the process of buying a business. This is accomplished by being on top of the situation, solving problems and demonstrating strong leadership skills. This is a commission only position. You can expect to make between $100,000 and $300,000 per year. Due to the length of the sales cycles you should expect a six month period to elapse before you get that first commission check. Little or no overnight travel is required.
This position is about evaluating businesses, marketing, facilitating win-win deals and advising clients throughout the process. You must have great integrity, character and be a confident, creative problem-solver. This position requires extensive telephone work to generate leads and networking with other professionals (CPA’s, attorneys, Financial Planners). The office provides significant marketing support.
No experience is required as we provide an excellent training program.
